I received an SOS call from my best friend's husband stating that she had a heart attack. I rushed to the hospital arriving right before the ambulance. I had just left her 30 minutes prior. In she went, they had a pulse. We were told the next 36 hours were critical. She would be in a 'code freeze.'
This is when Shayna arrived. AMAZING!! This gal never moved from G's side. She worked hard, hard, and harder on making sure everything, I mean everything, was done properly. As I was sitting there, she explained everything she was doing and why. She explained the IVs in her arm, the tubes- everything. She talked G through it also, never losing hope, or at least not showing any loss of hope. She did not leave her side for 12 straight hours.
I know this is a typical shift however, I believe she was there longer knowing she was needed. She was needed to start the SAVING process for my friend, my ying to my yang!! If it weren't for her care and dedication, I am not sure if my bestie would be here right now.
The amount of admiration for Shayna isn't even describable. I have the utmost respect for someone who will go above and beyond for a stranger. This stranger was/is one of the most important people in my life.
I thank her from the bottom of my heart. We just witnessed a MIRACLE and it started with Shayna.
