I was recently a patient at Washington Regional Medical Center. My doctor sent me to the emergency room and then I was admitted to the hospital to Cardiac Care. I was greeted on the floor by Shayne who really is an exceptional nurse and spent so much time helping me and my family understand what seemed to be wrong with me. We were all pretty scared and he was very supportive. Since I was admitted in the evening, he made sure I had something to eat and he spent a great deal of time checking on me. He was so professional and so caring. Before he left his shift, he brought Carman in to help me during the day.
Carman helped me get ready for a procedure to put a tube down my throat to check for blood clots and then shock my heart into a regular rhythm. I was really scared about the procedure and she was there with me when Dr. C. explained the procedure to me and my family. I was a very challenging patient, but she helped me after the procedure and she spent a great deal of time explaining all the medications I would have to take when I went home.
Words cannot really describe how much I appreciated Shayne and Carman. I have to go back to the hospital for another procedure in a few weeks and I am really glad that Shayne and Carman will be there to help me. It isn't quite as "scary" when I know you have such great nurses to help me and my family.
