During the course of physical therapy after my triple bypass surgery and the recent death of my wife of 61 years, I was suffering depression and I wasn’t interested in self-care. However, while surviving by mere compliance with appointments and church expectations, I was pleased to meet my nurse, Shae, at cardiac rehab. She is so delightful, caring, and dedicated. I'm not so sure she realizes she is “at work” because she truly enjoys her job and her patients, and even the family members who come to therapy with the patients. ALL OF US! She deserves a raise! She does so much more than physical therapy, adding emotional, psychological, and friendly therapy. I wish I didn’t have to stop coming just because your program is over. Hopefully, I will stay motivated to continue some exercise routine on my own. But going to “see Shea” was part of my social life, health too. You can see how she interacts with everyone in the room. She genuinely listens and if she can’t answer a question, she will find out and follow up. Shea definitely makes the world a better place, and she reminds us how precious health and life really are. Whoever she works for is lucky, very fortunate to have such a wonderful employee with such an all-around work ethic and people skills. I personally am in a much better place all around because of her encouragement and very delightful professionalism. I’m very grateful for Shea and what she brings to physical therapy. Even after expressing all this cardiac rehab nurse does not say enough about how special she really is. Thank you for hiring her, and I can’t thank her enough. I will come back to say hello once in a while. Take good care of her because she does so much more than her job.
