While I was a patient on 4C, my wife was in the ER at Baptist South with very high blood pressure. When I found out she was there I wanted to go down to the ER and check on her. Due to my condition, I was told I could not leave the floor without supervision. I asked for a transporter to take me and none were available. I insisted on being allowed to go see my wife. I was very concerned and distraught. I was told I could not leave the floor without signing an AMA form or discharging myself from the hospital. I did not want to do either, yet I was still very upset that I could not go see my wife. The Charge Nurse for 4C, Shelia Crews went above and beyond to resolve the situation. She got a wheelchair and put me in it and took me to the ER herself to see my wife. Shelia's CAN DO attitude to step up and do what's right is AWESOME! In fact, the entire staff of 4C was very caring. One of the best experiences I've ever had in a hospital. Thank you so much!
