November 2024 Honoree
Sheila Davis 2024, RN
I was induced to deliver my baby 6 weeks early due to complications in the pregnancy. Sheila was one of my nurses. My baby’s heartbeat went down and the Dr. was called in. It was decided that my water needed to be broken. When this happened, I had a partial cord prolapse. The team worked swiftly, and Sheila was advised to hold my baby’s head above my umbilical cord as my physician arranged an emergency c-section. Being terrified was an understatement. I asked Sheila to pray for me because I knew I needed God to be with me, but I didn’t have any words to say. She held her composure and prayed for me while keeping my baby safe. I don’t remember what she prayed for, but I felt more at peace. I was wheeled into the OR with her securing my baby’s head above the cord. My baby is turning 9 months next week, and I often think about how well Sheila treated me. She comforted me and saved my baby boy. She went above and beyond praying for me, and I’ll never forget it.
Thank you, Sheila, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
