Sheila Deriso 2, RN

A patient arrived with a cardiac arrest, was unstable, and the family had to make the very difficult decision to withdraw life support from their loved one. The patient’s sister had a request for prayer before the removal of the ventilator. There was no chaplain available so I asked Sheila if she would assist with the family’s request. We all gathered around the patient’s bed and held hands. Sheila recited a beautiful prayer that included the patient’s loved ones. The family was so appreciative of Sheila and the delivery of her prayer. I believe Sheila went above and beyond to assist the family with their grieving process. SHEILA… YOU ARE A GREAT EXAMPLE OF A HERO!
