Sheila is a huge asset to our organization. Sheila has been a nurse for over 40 years working in a variety of areas. Sheila began her career as a surgical tech, then advanced her career to become a nurse. She has a certification in perioperative nursing, holding the title CNOR, RN. Care team members value Sheila by giving her the nickname "Granny". She holds that title with honor because being our surgical services "Granny" is very prestigious. I call her my little ‘Hawkeye’ because Sheila keeps an eye on everything in our department which prevents unwanted outcomes. Sheila can be trusted, she understands patient confidentiality and assists in producing the best outcomes for our patients.

Sheila uses critical thinking skills to coordinate safe care for our patients. Sheila does not take patient safety lightly; Sheila is very serious about safety when it comes to caring for patients and care team members. She is an asset to our department because she holds a plethora of knowledge about surgical procedures, necessities, work-flows, physician preferences, and the capabilities of care team members. Sheila has more knowledge about nursing than any of us can ever learn in our lifetime. She is courageous, trusting, empathetic, carries a caring attitude, and exemplifies the mission, vision, values, and goals of the organization. Sheila Wilson is an outstanding model of the nursing profession and has significantly affected the lives of our patients and care team members.
