Sheila was nominated by a former patient at Atrium Medical Center. This patient was at Atrium Medical Center for several months and had several challenging issues with wounds. The doctors relied solely upon Sheila to handle most of the patient's wound issues, as they felt she was the only one competent enough to handle the challenges. There were many days when Sheila was in the patient's room numerous times throughout the day. She checked on this patient constantly, offering support and encouragement, even though Sheila had numerous patients to see daily. She also worked diligently to train newer nurses (and even several student nurses) on wound care procedures to assist in the patient's care. The patient commented that she always felt better when she saw Sheila, she knew Sheila would work hard to make sure that all the patient's needs were met. Sheila was always willing to answer questions from the patient's family and made sure she kept the family updated regarding the patient's care. Sheila is an amazing nurse who provides top-notch care, and is truly one of the best nurses around!
