I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding care provided by Sheila Kowalski. My husband was admitted December 25, 2012 and died December 30. During the majority of that time, nurse Kowalski cared for him and our entire family. Sheila went above and beyond our expectations, and I suspect the hospital's, in being present to us. She was the epitome of professionalism in providing information that we requested, assuring us of why procedures were followed, explaining and reexplaining what was occurring, what we should and should not expect. Yet, she went out of her way to care for us, the family, by demonstrating extreme patience, compassion and understanding. We believe she even requested a change in her own schedule in order to be with us during my husband's final days and hours. We want to commend Sheila and thank her for her outstanding care of our family.
