Sheila is a highly motivated and gifted nurse whose actions are thoughtful and deliberate. Her critical thinking skills are superb and evidenced daily in her care of complex medical surgical patients on an acute intermediate care unit. Her peers consistently comment on her clinical skills and compassionate care of patients and families. They value her for the knowledge and support she imparts to them.
Sheila is a highly inquisitive learner who energizes others to learn. She is always seeking new learning opportunities and readily shares her knowledge with others. I have had numerous opportunities to observe her contributions to the larger organization as a whole beyond her unit in forums such as the alarm management where she has been an invaluable committee member as well Superuser supporting other staff in improving the management of cardiac and pulse oximetry technology on our medical surgical units. Her expertise and enthusiasm in getting these new projects underway has been just wonderful. She is as comfortable being a team leader as she is being a team member.
