Sheila has transformed the health care delivered at JPS by streamlining the way immunization history is tracked from the state. She coordinated with the state of Texas to ensure all community health clinics were operating at the highest level of expectation by individualizing each clinics reporting structure and implementing the new Immtrack2 system.
Sheila ensures JPS is a leader in the patient and family experience by volunteering her time to our patients through the No One Dies Alone (NODA) program. Also, she ensures our patients have the highest level of care. She identified an opportunity to track the care of patients experiencing emergent needs in the clinic. She took the initiative to create a tracking process for these patients. By tracking emergent and urgent events in the clinics through the Midas Focus Study Sheila created, we now have the ability to track trends and identify needs for improving the care delivered to our patients.
Sheila truly has the heart of a caregiver. Her heart for our patients at JPS has led her to consistently donate feminine products, snacks, and personal care items to our most vulnerable population. Sheila has a passion for those without a voice. She volunteers for local anti-sex trafficking organizations, whose focus is to protect JPS's and Tarrant county's most vulnerable population. Monthly Sheila provides community outreach through a group called "Rescue Her". This group focuses on educating the community and local businesses in identifying those that are potential victims of human trafficking and how best to intervene on their behalf. Also, as part of her work, she has participated in an international trip to combat human trafficking globally.
