Sheila is kindhearted and treats everyone with respect, empathy, and understanding. I can sense her caring nature every time and has a genuine concern for her patients.
Sheila is truly an Extraordinary Nurse and leader and epitomizes nursing at its best. She has consistently performed her duties with competence and often goes the extra mile, doing more than what's expected. She has clinical expertise and the team looks up to her for guidance. Her great assessment skills are commendable, a role model and an amazing leader and coworker. She has consistently been a great clinical resource for the team, especially during rapids and other emergency situations. Sheila treats every team member like family, consistently round on nurses, PCTs, US, MT, floats, and observers, and asks them how they're doing and if they need help. She's always there to lend a hand and wears several hats and is very good at multitasking. She's an incredible nurse and leader.

Sheila treats each patient with respect and patients and their families appreciate her compassion, and kind, and caring ways. She knows all her patients and patients remember her from their past admissions since they all remember how Sheila made them feel and left a great impression on them. She's a wonderful advocate for her patients, making sure they get the best care that they need and she takes care of their families as well. She's like a ray of sunshine to all her patients and to the entire team. Sheila would make a patient smile despite what he/she is going through. Sheila is kindhearted and treats everyone with respect, empathy, and understanding. I can sense her caring nature every time and has a genuine concern for her patients. She displays sensitivity to those who may be difficult to serve due to the complexity of their illness. She consistently shows kindness and compassion to her patients regardless of their actions. A patient once told me,  "Sheila is genuinely interested in me as a person and in what I have to say and she makes me feel like a VIP. She listens to me and my concerns."

Sheila is a role model to our new and seasoned nurses and a great mentor who selflessly gives her time and knowledge to further their development and growth. She's not only a great mentor to the Meh 5 team but is often asked to mentor new ANMs as well from other units. Sheila is an exceptional leader and has functioned in a variety of roles on the unit. We have had several rapid responses on the unit and through her efforts and clinical expertise she was able to pick up on what could be going on with the patient and transfer them to a higher level of care. Meh 5 is a second home to Sheila. She has grown on Meh 5, developed great relationships with the members of the multidisciplinary team, and with physicians, and is well-liked by the team, and has developed a trusting relationship with them. You often see Sheila performing other tasks such as moving beds, equipment, transporting, medicating, teaching and cleaning up patients, removing clutter in the patient's rooms and hallways, doing PD on other units, and organizing supplies. I could say that Sheila is also one of the superheroes of Mehandru 5 who always use the HRO tools to keep our patients safe. She always makes sure that every team member is recognized through wambi for all their hard work.

Note: This is Sheila's 2nd DAISY Award!
