Shelby Fleming, LPN

Shelby stayed after her shift was over to brush out a patient's hair who was unable to do it herself. The patient has a genetic disorder and is cognitively delayed, functioning at the level of a two-year-old. The patient had several matted areas in her hair and this took Shelby three hours to complete. Shelby was so patient with her. She then shampooed and conditioned the patient's hair and put it up in a braid to help prevent further tangles. Shelby displayed compassion and kindness and acted above and beyond what she had to do to provide compassionate care for this patient.
