Shelby Luedeker, BSN, RN

Shelby was the primary nurse for a patient who was having a less-than-ideal experience. This patient required multiple surgeries that were delayed due to OR complications. This resulted in the patient being NPO for an extended period of time. Once the patient was able to eat, all she wanted was a chicken quesadilla. Shelby took it upon herself to go above and beyond to special request this from the cafeteria and ordered and paid for it for her patient to feel comfortable and at last have a full stomach with the meal she desired. Additionally, it was the patient's birthday and Shelby made sure this patient felt celebrated and loved even though she was hospitalized. The patient and the family were immensely grateful for the care Shelby provided.
