Shelby McCutcheon, MSN,RN,CEN,PHRN

I first met Shelby when I started working in the Cath Lab as a patient care technician. At that time, she wasn’t a leader, but she was the first one to take me under her wing and teach me with patience and kindness. I have never forgotten that, and I was so happy when she became a manager.

She was a strong, kind, and caring nurse, and she has become an invaluable leader. I am now out of the patient care field and in a different role, but I have been able to watch Shelby grow as a leader, and I see how she leads by example. She would always jump in and work side by side with her team if needed.

Her leadership skills were noticed, and she has now become a director. She is always there for her managers and supports them and helps them grow as leaders as well. She has empathy and compassion and is respected as a leader by other staff members.

She is truly deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
