I would like to nominate Shelby for the DAISY Award for many reasons. I was an inpatient for 7 weeks and was suffering from many of my symptoms. I was very uncomfortable and probably would have been deemed "difficult" to deal with. Shelby demonstrated genuine kindness, sympathy, and understanding. I felt blessed to have staff like her treat me with professionalism, kindness, and tolerance. Taking care of an "easy" patient is one thing - but some may have found me to be difficult. Shelby really listened to me and helped make me feel comforted and cared for. Being inpatient for 7 weeks was not easy but Shelby helped break up the "difficult times" and provided true care and comfort to a patient in need.
