I would like to recognize Shelby, the bedside nurse who cared for my mom for two nights. During one of the most terrifying and emotional times in our lives, Shelby was more than just a nurse. She was a source of comfort and peace.
She was incredibly patient with my mom, attentive to every need, and treated her with such genuine respect and dignity. No matter how busy the unit was, she never made us feel like a burden. She showed compassion in the smallest details & the way she spoke softly to my mom, the way she reassured our family, and the way she carried herself with calm confidence.
In moments when we felt overwhelmed, Shelby helped us breathe a little easier. We will never forget the kindness she showed us.
