My father-in-law was admitted with a self-inflicted wound. Our whole family was devastated and shocked. Shelby was our nurse for 2 days. We told her his story on admission so that the person she saw was not the man we treasure. After being married for 66 years, his wife died and we suspect it was more than he could take. Shelby treated him with respect and joy and even to us she showed as much caring as we could wish her to show. She is the type of person God uses to help heal broken hearts and broken bodies. She answered all of our questions. We will always remember this admission and the nurse that helped put a band-aid on our hearts.
