Shelby Readhead was nominated for her actions for outstanding and potentially life-saving performance in advocating for a patient who was experiencing post-operative bleeding. She had tried all options including pressure dressings and holding manual pressure to the wound. Shelby is a wonderful patient advocate and was determined to do the right thing for the patient. She conducted herself in a perfectly professional manner at all times. A resolution was achieved for the patient. We need more nurses like Shelby, who refuse to give up and always do the right thing in the face of difficulty.
