Shelli goes above and beyond taking care of our Veterans needing audiology help at our clinic. I was with her for a hearing aid reprogramming appointment where our patient was utilizing loaner hearing aids while theirs were sent in to be repaired. The loaner hearing aids were different from the current technology being repaired; therefore, the patient needed to be seen to review how to change the volume on the hearing aids.

This technology uses a push button on each hearing aid where you push the right hearing aid button to raise the volume for both devices and push the left hearing aid button to lower the volume for both devices. The right hearing aid push button was not working and appeared to get stuck.

The audiologist explained that the technician could remove the hearing aid casing to clean the push button of debris. If Shelli felt comfortable doing this, I would walk her through the steps. Without hesitation, Shelli agreed to attempt the task at hand. She was successful in her mission. Her hard work and effort did not go unnoticed by the patient or myself. She truly demonstrated her care and passion for serving our Veterans.
