Shelly received seven different nominations for the month she was chosen to be honored. While all of the nominations were amazing to read the one submitted below outlines her character.
When I came in at my worst, she was the main nurse who talked me down. She notices when something is going south; sits right down beside them and holds their hand. This is not a specific situation, it's unending. Her compassion for others, not just for Veterans. It's evident in her eyes and smile. Working on this ward takes a special nurse. She goes above and beyond, "she could make Satan take a cold shower". She not only saves lives but, helps save their souls.
