A patient (parent) wanted to recognize Shelly. When asked to "Please tell us a specific, recent story how this nurse showed outstanding, compassionate care.", the patient responded:
I nominate Shelly for the best nurse. Thank you, God, for giving me Shelly for my nurse. Shelly gets me to play even though I was intubated with a breathing tube. She found a way for me to keep on my vitals stickers. She kept me comfortable and always had a sincere smile that made my mom feel that I was in very good hands. Thank God, I have her in my life. She helped me since I was a baby and has been fighting with me since I was born. Thank you, Shelly, for everything, especially putting on Moana for me to watch.
We love you, Shelly. Thank you for getting my baby to eat by mouth when everyone else gave up. My baby is 11 months old now and gaining weight. Thank you!
