Sheri always has the patient's and department's best interest at heart. She exemplifies St. Luke's Mission, Vision and Values. Our team is multidisciplinary and Sheri is tremendous at respecting and valuing all perspectives and ensuring that we all learn together. She is a frequent preceptor with new staff and students. Her excellent skills and bedside manner make her a great mentor and coach. With all the skills Sheri has, her demeanor sets her apart. Her bedside manner is gentle and confident, which immediately puts patients and families at ease. It is stressful to come to us and Sheri helps alleviate that.

A population that has been so positively impacted by Sheri is the hypothermia patients. Sheri has taken the lead on the process of providing hypothermia treatment for post-arrest patients. She has worked with staff, physicians and hospital leadership to ensure that we have evidence based and outcome focused protocols. She has worked with other UnityPoint facilities to provide this service. This therapy has been a life changer for these patients and families and so has Sheri. She has been the calm presence throughout a terrifying time and been an unforgettable anchor in a very bad storm for many.
