Shari noted a very frustrated patient from a local nursing home, he was not getting consistent care with his ostomy. She instructed the patient & family member in the outpatient clinic but then on her own time she went to the nursing home and did formal education to the staff. She wanted to make sure all the patients were being treated correctly and wanted to make sure the staff had the tools to do the best job possible. Ostimates are a passion of Shari's and it shows. She also volunteers her time to teach NIC students & give classes at NIC for the same reason!
