June 2025 Honoree
Sherill Asas, RN
I had a fall and shattered my hip. While the care I received at Dyer Hospital and Rehab was exceptional, one nurse stood out above the rest. This was Sherill.
Every time she entered my room, she was smiling, joyful, as if she had been waiting to see me all day. Her compassion and tenderness as she ministered to my injury were not just from her training but from her heart. No task was beneath her. If I needed something, she didn’t wait for an aide …she quickly supplied what I needed and always made sure that my pain meds were given to me in time before I started my PT so that my pain was managed well.
Sherill was like a cheerleader, encouraging me every step of the way. She was thorough and tireless in her care for me, and I am sure others on the floor. She deserves this nomination and so much more, and I thank God for her coming into my life.
