I was admitted to CICU on Saturday morning and had undergone Angiogram as scheduled one week before. Though a few blocks were identified during the procedure my doctor decided to perform an angioplasty the next day in the presence of another doctor as it was complicated. My wife was waiting outside the CICU room with a heavy heart and prayer book in her hand all these difficult hours. The 5-bed CICU was fully occupied with patients. All the nurses were busy attending calls of the patients and I found all the nurses were doing their duty very well and happily. On Sunday morning, my angioplasty was scheduled after another patient who was admitted there the previous night after a cardiac attack. My angioplasty started around 1.00 pm and I was back in bed after 2.30 hrs of painful procedures. Even though my doctor was on leave that day, he came to the hospital to do the procedure and also sought the help of another doctor. By God's grace and the brilliance of the doctors and team of support staff, it was done successfully. Though I found all the nurses were good in serving the patient, Sherin was special as she was also consoling my wife who was sitting outside and offering her tea as well during her nervous moments. Hence I would like to nominate her for the DAISY Award as she has got a big heart and compassion for the patient and their loved ones as well.
