Sherine has been recognized multiple times for the care she provides patients and families on the orthopedic unit. Her concern and follow-up doesn't even stop at the end of her shift. She continually stops and checks on patients even after they are discharged from her unit and are no longer her patient. I watched a discharged patient wait to say goodbye to Sherine, while hugging her, the patient told her "I love you!" before she would leave. That is the kind of care that Sherine provides to every one of her patients. That family also felt that she took amazing care of them as well. She checked on them frequently and answering their many questions, some of them more than once. Sherine is a positive role model for the new nurses she precepts and was also recently honored with the South Lake Hosptial's Nursing Preceptor/mentor Award due to her outstanding commitment to training our newest nurses.
