Sherine had a patient come in for a blood transfusion of 2 units. After type and cross was completed, the blood had antibodies which significantly delayed getting the blood from blood bank. The doctor asked the patient to return the next day, but the patient stated they were leaving town in the morning and could not. Although the Admission Processing Unit (APU) closes at 11 pm, Sherine proceeded to complete the transfusion in a slow manner due to the patient having Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). She made certain that the patient had a meal tray and completed the transfusion at 1:30 am. She did so with a smile and a shrug, saying "I felt bad, they were going out of town and the patient needed the blood." She is the perfect example of "Excellence, Always", and the patient and family were truly grateful.

Thank you, Sherine, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
