This nurse exemplifies compassion. This nurse goes above and beyond, not only in her job duties but in her deliverance of patient care. She actively sought out how to perform the job of others and assists whenever she can. When she has concerns regarding a patient, she already has a thorough knowledge of their history, medical background, and their current treatment. She is a vital asset to the team. One specific example of how she provides quality, compassionate patient care involves an older, difficult patient who has violent tendencies. She assists him with showering, helps divert his attention away from harming others, and monitors him for improvement and/or worsening. She communicates effectively with the team and never leaves a team member alone and in harm’s way.
