Shernette Dyer, RN

I came into the hospital to have a meningioma removed from my right prefrontal cortex. One of the symptoms I was experiencing was severe and extreme emotional dysregulation and lack of impulse control. Unfortunately, that meant that anybody I was interacting with was at risk of my quick to escalate rage and verbal assaults. Shernette was not spared, and to no fault of her own, she was on the receiving end of a verbal assault including profanity. I apologized while I was yelling and said I couldn't help it but it was still pretty bad. She was very, very patient, and compassionate and really helped me to calm down instead of escalate into a full blown anxiety/ panic attack. Which I had been experiencing in the previous week. Shernette was attentive, patient, so kind, and had a wonderful bedside manner as well as a good sense of humor. She was by far, the very best nurse I've ever had the pleasure of being cared for by.
