A patient was in for a routine follow-up. Sherrell recognized that the patient seemed to be struggling to breathe. She spoke to the family, quickly took vitals, and alerted the doctor. The doctor then ordered the patient to be sent to the ER and Sherrell coordinated transport. This heads-up, compassionate, teamwork approach just cannot be taught.
