Sherri also took the time to demonstrate how she can get an EKG on her Apple Watch.
I was fortunate to have Sherri as my Nurse for all four days of my ICU stay. There is no way to make any ICU stay pleasant, but there were a few things that Sherri did that helped me get through it. Sherri made it a point to meet each of my family members who visited me. She introduced herself to each of them and answered their questions. My family was very impressed that she had a clinical understanding of lab tests, procedures, and medications ordered.

On the last day of my admission, an unexpected thoracentesis was required, before my discharge. Sherri had the good judgement to ask for a hold on my blood thinner. If she had not done this, I would have had to wait an additional day to have the thoracentesis done! Sherri also took the time to demonstrate how she can get an EKG on her Apple Watch. I also bought an Apple watch after she showed me this feature. This will help me monitor my health, even after discharge.

The cafeteria has limited hours and my Husband was expecting my discharge, so he didn’t eat dinner prior to coming. Sherri graciously gave half her dinner to him! Sherri also has funny stories that make awkward situations a little easier. I was ordered total bed rest and was not allowed to get up to go to the bathroom; Sherri made this process a lot easier by sharing stories and explaining how to finish this task the easiest way possible!

Congratulations Sherri and thank you for all you do for your patients.
