Mom came to SVH in a critical condition via ambulance. Mom is 80 with the mind of an intelligent 40-year-old and is very meticulous with her care. When sick she looks so frail and out of it. However, Sherrie did everything to maintain Mom's dignity. Sherrie has exhibited all qualities and attributes that an Extraordinary Nurse exhibits without thinking about it. For Mother to say to her nurse, "I love and appreciate you for all that you have done for me", this is huge!! As an experienced nurse care manager at another facility, I cannot express enough how much what Sherrie has done for my mother means to me and my family. My standards are extremely high, and I believe one should care for others the way one would expect others to care for them. Truly dedicated nurses are very hard to come by, anywhere, and we need to recognize everyone we come in contact with. When I met Sherrie, I couldn't thank her enough for the communication efforts as I traveled from Ft Riley to see about my mother.
