Sherrin displayed every quality a DAISY Honoree would have. Beyond her excellent nursing skills, her bedside manners and engagement with me during my few days were exemplary. I had a severe infection and my fevers spiked overnight. Sherrin’s overnight presence got me through some of the worst fever sickness I’ve ever had. She stayed positive and made me feel like I would come through this when I doubted my health. She reassured me I would be OK and she helped me both medically and more importantly, she helped me mentally make it through this difficult time – more than any other nurse I’ve ever had. I felt a personal connection to Sherrin – a very unusual patient/caregiver relationship. One specific thing is that I badly needed sleep and was being woken up by the many disciplines. Sherrin organized all entries and allowed me to sleep several hours – more contributing to my health and well-being.
