I am 82 years old and recovering from a serious ankle replacement and was recently cleared for weight bearing. During my recovery, I contracted Klebsiella Pneumoniae. My family physician sent me to CMC ER to receive IV treatment. The ER started IV antibiotics and admitted me for subsequent IVs. It was supposed to be for 24 hours. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, every 12 hours, I was taking treatments, and a thoughtful, caring, and attentive nurse, Sherry, on the 2nd floor, made me feel so comfortable. Not just with her concern for my infection, but for my foot. She walked with me daily on her shifts and replaced an IV connection pain-free. It’s rare these days to find someone who truly cares. She was always smiling and available to staff and patients. SRHS can take pride in having an employee like Sherry. She has been my beam of sunshine in storm clouds.

I had a hysterectomy. After leaving the recovery room, I was taken upstairs to MedSurg, and Sherry was the first smiling face I saw. Every encounter, she smiled, laughed, and was very informative. She helped my family and me with whatever we needed and always with a smile. Sherry helped make this experience and my stay here comfortable and nice!
