Sherry was literally holding me up, hugging me, and comforting me while the CRNA placed the epidural. She felt more like a family member or friend during that time than my nurse.
I was admitted to be induced with my first baby girl at Parkwest Medical Center at midnight. Sherry walked in and introduced herself as my nurse. I was very nervous upon arrival and Sherry had a calming presence and I felt like I had known her my whole life. She immediately explained the process of how everything worked and she even had a great sense of humor to take my husband’s jokes. She proved herself competent within minutes of us meeting her. My induction began and the labor pains started getting more and more intense and Sherry explained all of my options for pain medicines and once we decided on an option, she was there quickly to give me relief. The pain medicine wore off and I found myself needing an epidural as quickly as they could come. Sherry went above and beyond to make sure the CRNA could come and give me some relief before his surgery began. Within minutes of Sherry calling the CRNA, Sherry was literally holding me up, hugging me, and comforting me while the CRNA placed the epidural. She felt more like a family member or friend during that time than my nurse. It was evident to me that Sherry cared so much about her job and that she truly values her patients and treats them with the utmost dignity and respect. We requested to have Sherry as our nurse the next night she was back and we were so relieved when she walked through our door to be our nurse. She made my labor experience more comfortable and enjoyable.
