Sheryl was the first nurse that I encountered upon my admission and I was scared and worried because of how sick I was. Waiting for platelets to come from the Red Cross and getting numerous antibiotics throughout the night - she explained everything. She clearly shared the names of each antibiotic and about each as well, without my asking. She created a caring and collaborative relationship when she filled out the white board with me and my husband. She used active thinking and she halted the antibiotics when the platelets finally arrived. She allowed me to sleep as much as possible and ensured I was not ever startled. She assessed me from head to toe when I first arrived before she looked at the computer and focused on me as if I were her only patient. To me she went above and beyond her role as RN and I am thrilled to recognize her and the care she provided.
