Sheryl Bailey has served as teacher, staff support, patient care innovator, and advocate. She never turns away from an opportunity to help another person, whether patient or staff, and she does it with kindness and patience.
In December I broke my wrist, and a bivalve cast was applied. When Sheryl saw me shortly after, she immediately asked if she could redo the cast for my protection and comfort. She padded the reddened bony areas, and created a more supportive cast that lessened my pain. Sheryl was busy and had patients to visit, but she stopped to help a me, a coworker, without hesitation.
I am proud to nominate Sheryl Bailey to receive the DAISY Award because she truly is an Extraordinary Nurse with a compassionate heart.
