Sheryl Floyd is an asset to DePaul Hospital. She is a team player who is willing to fill the open roles on the unit. In the last year she has been a clinical coach, future’s program mentor and has taken the CSN position on 7 South. Sheryl is one of those nurses who is always striving to help others and always wants what is best for the unit. She is worthy of emulation from those both young and old. One of the notable characteristics that Sheryl possesses is her integrity. She is honest but compassionate with patients and coworkers. She stands up for what is right and embodies the values of SSM DePaul. If she sees any co-workers not living up to our mission statement she lovingly approaches them to determine what can be done to help them deliver exceptional patient care while being the best person they can be. It’s people like Sheryl Floyd that make me proud to be a part of this hospital, this family. She was one of the first people to make me feel at home here at DePaul, one of the first people to extend a gracious loving hand to help me feel at ease. I truly believe that our founding sisters, that Mother Odelia herself, would want to meet Sheryl Floyd and that they too would be enamored with her heart and spirit.
