After our traumatic, life threatening car accident I was greeted in the ER by the very calm, soothing voice of Sheryl, the Charge Nurse. I was separated from my husband which increased my anxiety, however Sheryl continued to keep me informed while processing my condition. Many people came and went but Sheryl was with me throughout my entire stay until her shift end.
When my husband’s condition took a turn for the worse and he was life flighted to JPS she personally took me in a wheelchair to see my husband's helicopter off. This meant the world to me.
When I was told that I needed someone to come get me and transport me to JPS to join my husband she gave me a reality check and encouraged me to call my daughter; not Nurse to patient but mother to mother. I SO appreciated this and realized she was right. My daughter was called and during the 2.5 hour wait for her to arrive Sheryl continued to check in on me. She ordered me breakfast and at her shift change she made sure she let me know she was leaving and wished me her best.
Sheryl's care was above and beyond the sterile, impersonal professional that gets the job done with NO consideration for the patient. Sheryl saw me as a PERSON first and a patient second. Her care and attention to my condition and well being is, I believe, what made my ER stay at Wise Health System ER a positive one. Thank you, Sheryl.

Thank you, Sheryl, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
