Sheryl responds quickly to my calls to her. She never appears hurried or flustered.
I was a patient at Valley Medical for a week. I had just had open heart surgery at another hospital. A week or so after I was released from the other hospital, I collapsed in my home. After a week at VMC, it was discovered I had had two ulcers in my stomach. At Valley, I received outstanding nursing care from Nurse Salera. She made me very comfortable. Her bedside manner was simply superb.
For example, hospital beds are often uncomfortable because someone heavier has made depressions in the bed. Being short, I would slide down the bed so my feet would be against the bottom of the headboard. Nurse Salera would fold a couple of sheets so that my feet were against the folded sheets and not against the bottom of the headboard. She would also make video phone calls to my family who could not be at my bedside, because of hospital policies due to Covid.
To my family, especially my wife, seeing me on these phone calls meant a lot to them and to me. They immediately noticed my startling weight loss. Sheryl responds quickly to my calls to her. She never appears hurried or flustered. She’s always calm, considerate, and attentive to my needs. She is an excellent role model for other nurses, especially for the younger, newer ones. Her caring and understanding of my condition (open heart surgery) are outstanding. Space does not allow me to further elaborate on all the things she does for patients under her care, but she most definitely made a world of difference with respect to my comfort and stay at Valley Medical.
