Sheryl was nominated by the mother of a patient she was caring for. The patient was very anxious and confused and did not want to stay in bed. Sheryl could see he was getting worse and needed respiratory support. She called the physician and the patient was transferred to the critical care unit. Her recognition of his decline saved his life. The mother could not have asked for a better nurse to care for her son. The mother could not thank her enough for her wonderful care.
