I want to nominate my 10 north nurse manager, Shiela Helga K. Escobar, for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. I have seen a big difference in 10 North with her leadership. I saw her commitment when introducing the ERM to 10 North and another unit. During the Joint Commission, the 10 North team worked hard under her. She was able to lead us, which is why we have no findings. She was able to create a working environment where professional development is supported. I have seen nurses who had advanced careers in clinical practice. I have seen many nurses who want to be involved in committees. She created a working environment where trust and respect are possible. She led the 10 North team with a vision for the good of the patients and the nursing staff. She always gives her heart to her work. She shares her ideas so I can grow as a leader, too.
