Ever since she was a child Ms. Wong had wanted to become a nurse. After graduating from college she continued to study in order to get her advanced degree, while working a nurse. She has been a nurse for more than 13 years and received her license as an Advanced Clinical Nurse 6 years ago. She has worked at Min-Sheng General Hospital for 6 years as a surgical Advanced Clinical Nurse. Due to her dedication to her work and outstanding performance, she was recently promoted to become the surgical Advanced Clinical Nurses’ leader. In her leadership role she is responsible for training new staff, and also serves as a role model to others since she still continues to provide bedside clinical work. She is also an ACLS instructor.
Having worked for many years as nurse, she has received a lot of praise from patients. Even after many years, the patient’s families still remembered her and have maintained contact with her, to keep her informed of the condition of the patients that she cared for. After patients have recovered and been discharged, they and their families will make it a point to seek her out when they are in the hospital for clinic appointment. This is because Ms. Wong always treated and cared for her patients, and families, emotionally and physically. She took the time to trouble shoot and explain her plan, and to coordinate the patient’s care with the interdisciplinary team. She was always there for the family members, to help them pass difficult times, and she provided comfort and support for them. They all felt her sincerity and appreciated that the care came from within her heart.
Ms. Wong has truly fulfilled the values of Min-Sheng Hospital, and we are fortunate to have such an excellent clinician that consistently places patient first in her job working at Min-Sheng Hospital.
