I have worked alongside Shinae Kim for close to 20 years. My first impression of her was that, despite the hectic environment we work in, she was steadfast in her focus to deliver empathetic, individualized care to her patients. Shinae has maintained this focus through the years and continues to impress with her commitment to respecting the diversity of our patient population and non-judgmentally considering patients' unique world views while striving to meet their health care needs. As she has grown over the years, Shinae has recognized the value of supporting her colleagues and working as a team to improve outcomes for all our patients. Her flexibility and support have helped to build a culture of interdependence on our unit which increases our confidence and competence in delivering the highest quality care. She is a strong advocate for patient and staff safety and is persistent in her pursuit of effective remedies to potential gaps in safety. Shinae's habit of putting herself in the shoes of others and working hard to deliver services that are effective and of value to them is the essence of nursing care. She is a DAISY Nurse for her compassionate and caring dedication to patients.
