Shirl has been the most compassionate and caring nurse I have ever had, both to me and my wife. I felt truly blessed to have been cared for by Shirl. Her dedication to the patient and professionalism is not only a positive for her but a positive for EASTAR. She should train all new nurses. She has a contagious smile. She explains everything that is being done and talks you through it. I had a very painful knee revision and she worked hard with me through dressing changes and pain while showing great compassion. She just has what it takes to be that special nurse - smile, bounce, compassion, knowledge, and a great educational story. She was able to distract me from the pain. She always has a smile.
