Shirley was caring for a patient who was admitted through the Emergency Department. The patient's wife was with him and did not have transportation to get home. She thought that she would be allowed to stay with him in his room. The male patient was admitted to a semi-private room and visitors are not allowed to stay overnight in these situations. Shirley made accommodations for the wife to be comfortable through the night and then she drove the wife of the patient home the next morning at the end of her shift.
