We were all packed up and ready to go when I got the news our baby was being sent to the NICU. I was scared and heartbroken as a new mom. Every time I hold my baby, I think of Shirley. She taught us so many things about our new baby girl in her first few days of life that really helped us understand her. When I was discharged and told I'd have to leave my baby behind, Shirley gave me words of encouragement and went above and beyond to make sure I could room-in and breastfeed our baby. For these things, I want to thank Shirley from the bottom of my heart, I am truly grateful to you.
