I have a needle phobia that causes me a lot of anxiety over medical procedures. Normally, I have to ask nurses to let me know before they insert the needle for an IV instead of trying to distract and surprise me. I didn’t even have to ask with Shirley. She picked up on my nervousness and talked me through everything and was so patient and understanding and respectful. And I didn’t even feel a thing. It made such a huge difference in my medical anxiety and I hope to have her again as my nurse if I have to have more procedures.
