Ms. Stephenson is not only an excellent practitioner and scholar, but she is also a tenacious advocate for patients, colleagues, and students.
Shirley Stephenson has been faculty in the Department of Population Health Nursing Science for over ten years, serving as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor from 2011-14 and then as a Visiting Clinical Instructor and Visiting Clinical Practice Nurse Educator since 2019. Ms. Stephenson is the Clinical Site Director of Mile Square Humboldt Park Health Center and is in the process of completing her DNP degree at the UIC College of Nursing. She is a frontline leader in combating the opioid crisis in Chicago and throughout the country. Ms. Stephenson is not only an excellent practitioner and scholar, but she is also a tenacious advocate for patients, colleagues, and students. A national leader in prevention of new HIV infections, she is beloved by students, patients, colleagues, and faculty.
